Deployer, screen by screen.
What each screen shows, what each button does, and who is allowed to press it. Read the pages in order, or one at a time.
Get started
- Getting started with Deployer What Deployer does, how to create an account and sign in, the vocabulary of the screens and the five roles of a workspace.
- Create a workspace The creation dialog, the choice of mode, the three-step wizard and the welcome checklist, up to a workspace ready to use.
- Configure a workspace The five configuration sections, from the workspace name to the variables of each environment, and what each changes.
Deliver
- Deploy Read the environment grid, open a target’s detail, deploy a branch or roll out a version, run an environment action.
- Versions The history of what was delivered, where each version runs today, and the way to its release notes.
- Release notes The notes computed from the commits, their facets and degraded states, then the written note, by hand or assisted.
- Validate a feature The merge requests of a single issue, grouped across every project, validated and merged together into the main branch.
- The assembled branch A trial branch rebuilt from the main branch and the ready features, to test before merging: read, rebuild, freeze, exclude.
- Carry a hotfix From an issue or a branch to hotfix merge requests on every project, then their tracking, their merge and the history.
Administer
- Members and their roles Bring someone into a workspace, give them a role, revoke or remove them, and what each role allows.
- Your personal GitLab account Link your GitLab account to a workspace so your hotfixes and merges carry your name, with your own permissions.
- Microsoft and Google sign-in On your premises: declare the application at Microsoft or Google, set it up in Deployer, watch the secret expiry.
